Virginia Beach Tournament Committee Recruitment
The National Tournament is a fully volunteer-run event. The Tournament Committee is composed of over 40 volunteers from various Stonewall chapters, who contribute to one of the five functional areas: Sports Operations, Events, Marketing and Communications, Logistics, and Sponsorship and Strategic Partnerships. The 2026 Tournament Committee Application will open on Monday, January 12th, and will close on Monday, February 2nd at 11:59 PM EST. Please apply by clicking here.
Tournament Committee Expectations:
While expectations vary by position, there are some common expectations among all volunteers. These are listed below for review before applying:
- Tournament Committee members should plan to arrive in Virginia Beach on Thursday, October 22nd, by 3:00 PM
- Committee Members on the Sports Operations, Logistics, and Events Team should plan to stay in Virginia Beach until the evening of Sunday, October 25th, but preferably the morning of Mon, October 26th, in order to fully conclude on-site responsibilities
- Committee Members are expected to attend two virtual tournament-wide committee calls. The first, focused on onboarding and introductions, will be in March 2026. The second will be a virtual retreat scheduled for July 2026
- Volunteers are expected to attend bi-weekly team meetings via Google Meet, starting in March 2026
