Our Commitment to Inclusion

Stonewall Sports is dedicated to nurturing a diverse community through organized sports and activities hosted in inclusive spaces. 

Stonewall Sports is proud to be an organization that serves and celebrates every person in the LGBTQIA+ community. We are founded on the pillars of respect, holistic wellness, open-mindedness and the appreciation of diverse backgrounds.

Our shared responsibility is to bring our community together, empower individuals, and provide a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment to learn and grow, uplifting those who are part of the Stonewall community and beyond.

We believe in supporting and celebrating all individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community, including people of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, national origins, religious or spiritual beliefs, socioeconomic statuses, physical or mental abilities, sizes, and appearances. We also celebrate the rich intersection of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community, and we welcome friends and allies into our spaces.

In pursuit of our values, we encourage each of our participating teams to embrace these principles with representation from members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our tournament leaders team are empowered and encouraged to start dialogues with teams when there is an opportunity to promote diversity and inclusivity. 

12th Annual Stonewall Sports National Tournament Land Acknowledgment 

Stonewall Sports acknowledges that we are gathering on the ancestral and contemporary territory of the Chesapeake peoples. We honor the resiliency of the Chesapeake nation and recognize the historical context that has and continues to affect the Indigenous peoples of this land. Acknowledging the land reminds us of the systemic oppression of Indigenous peoples and the fact that colonialism is current and ongoing. We encourage tournament attendees to learn more about the Indigenous people and the rich spiritual and cultural significance of the land upon which we will gather in October.
