Uniform Policy

Stonewall Sports seeks to foster an environment of respect, body positivity, and inclusiveness. As such, we have adopted the following guidelines and requirements for team uniforms:

  1. All players are expected to play in their Stonewall-issued tournament t-shirts on one of two tournament days so photographers can capture action shots and team photographs during tournament bracket play. Sport managers will coordinate a day for all players in an individual sport to wear their Stonewall-issued tournament t-shirts (e.g., kickball players may be asked to wear tournament-issued shirts on Saturday and dodgeball players may be asked to wear tournament-issued shirts on Sunday.)

  2. On the alternating day (the day players and teams are not instructed to wear their Stonewall-issued tournament t-shirts), players are expected to wear coordinating uniforms during game play. This may include team-designed and purchased uniforms, a second tournament shirt purchased during registration, or color-coordinating outfits. We encourage color-coordinating outfits to showcase their chapter's Stonewall shirts if possible.

  3. Players are permitted to alter and decorate their shirts; however alterations should not infringe on the Stonewall Sports or sponsorship logos.

  4. Players are encouraged to use their name and pronoun boxes on Stonewall-issued shirts. Name and pronoun boxes are encouraged, but not required to be present on team uniforms. Misuse of the name and pronoun boxes may result in removal from the tournament without warning and will be referred to tournament leadership as a violation of our code of conduct.

  5. Players at outdoor venues (kickball, bocce, and sand volleyball) must have their shirts visible and somewhere on their body when on and off the field to help other players, volunteers, and leaders identify them.

  6. Due to venue policies, all players are required to wear their shirts when inside our dodgeball, indoor volleyball, bowling, and billiards venues.

  7. Due to venue policies, all players are required to wear their unaltered shirts (i.e. with sleeves) at our tennis venue.
